What is a neo-noir?

The neo-noir is the 'reboot' of the noir style. It modernises the themes of the classic noirs, along with the content, visual styles and narrative constructs and presentation. The neo-noir is more contextually encompassing, reflecting relevant technology and social issues.
Narratively, the neo-noir mirrors the classic noir in many fashions, however the chronology of the story is often distorted.
